It is not advisable to stop this medicine suddenly to avoid unpleasant side effects. Tell your doctor if your condition does not get better after 7 days. Your doctor will assess the benefits and risks of using Ciprofloxacin and may also order blood tests to monitor the treatment. If you stop taking Ciprofloxacin too soon, it may not be as effective as prescribed by your doctor. It may take up to 7 days to notice the full effects. Your symptoms may get better, but do not feel better immediately after you have finished taking Ciprofloxacin. Your doctor may adjust your dose or recommend an alternative treatment. Report to your doctor any change in the way you or your partner feeling or thinking about sex is having or thinking of sex, or of other changes in your sex life. You may get tired of sex with your heart or lose touch with reality. If you experience any side effects, contact your doctor. The FDA has ordered a recall of Cipro, the generic version of an antibiotic, after reports that it contains undeclared ciprofloxacin.
The generic product, known as Ciprofloxacin, is a commonly prescribed antibiotic that is sold under the brand name Zithromax.
Cipro is a prescription medication used to treat bacterial infections of the skin and soft tissues, urinary tract, and respiratory tract.
